The new Nordberg® NP13(TM) impact crusher takes customers forward again

The new Nordberg® NP13(TM) impact crusher, introduced by Metso, is now the newest addition to a field-proven range of NP Series impact crushers. NP13 is the ideal choice for secondary and tertiary applications, with the design for increased safety and performance.
The new Nordberg NP13 requires smaller capacity with the same design as the NP15.

Vincent Schmitt, Metso's Product Manager for NP Series impact crushers says, "The heart of this new crusher is performance, profitability and maintenance of the crushing plants". Less Recirculation, More Throughput NP13 features a steeper feed angle to improve crushing efficiency and produce more end products with less recirculation load. It enables more consistent end products over time without having to change blow bars with increasing material penetration into the rotor and making the discharge curve less sensitive to blow bar wear.
NP13 can be installed on a lighter steel structure and can be equipped with a 315 kW (400 hp) motor on a single drive. NP13 accepts feed material up to 350 mm (14") and the maximum throughput capacity is 20% more than that of the existing NP1213.
Automation and smart wear part arrangement increasing cost efficiency Compared with the NP1213, the number of different side liners has been cut by almost half, with only seven different liners required in NP13. This smart wear part arrangement gives more flexibility in the side liners and less need for stocking parts.
Product quality is predictable and consistent due to Metso IC crusher automation. The Metso IC crusher automation system can give precise control of the crusher parameters for a high-quality product and improved plant profitability and it is available for NP13 as well as for all of Metso's series of crushers.
Despite of the roughness of the crushed material, the broad selection of blow bars assures that customers always have the right tool. Metso's triple-wedge blow bar attachment system provides a very rigid assembly allowing the use of blow bars with ceramic inserts, even with coarse feed material, and is also the easiest in the market.
Metso innovations making safe maintenance NP13 has a new two-part rear frame that combines safety with simple, wide access to make maintenance safer and easier. The operator can decide which way to open the frame, relying on where the access is required. NP13’s removable breaker plate cassette ensures the safe replacement of breaker plate liners. Consisting of a removable assembly so the breaker plate liners can be changed in a safe place outside the crusher. For further ease and speeding up liner changes, an extra spare cassette can be prepared ahead of time.
The NP13 maintenance bridge offers safe and easy access to both the highest side liners and the rotor as an innovative and professional solution. This ensures that the operator maintaining the machine is always working under safe conditions.
The patented Self-Rotation Rotor (SRR) system is the key point for the setting adjustment and blow bar change, and further increases safety during maintenance operations. Due its automated rotation, the rotor offers a safe environment without any risk of injuring the operator when changing the blow bars.
Besides these advantages, customers can also be provided with customization options to make the crusher perfect for their specific technical and business requirements including drive equipment, a totally hydraulic setting adjustment, third breaker plate, sensors and automatic greasing and so on.
